How far is the nearest airfield? :P

July 1, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterDids

Williamsburg Jamestown Airport is a privately operated single run way facility offering fuel, tie downs and hanger space.

It's located about 6 miles from Busch Gardens.

Check out this map.

Looking forward to the meetup! I hope to make it down from the Tyson's Corner area.

Closest major airport would be Newport News.

You may have better luck with better fares at larger airports like Richmond, Dulles, or National in DC

If anyone is flying into Dulles airport, I might could offer a ride down depending on schedules

Right, Newport News Williamsburg International (PHF) would be the closest major airport. Also Richmond International (RIC) and Norfolk International (ORF) are close by.

I figured based on Dids wording that he was a private pilot looking for a place to fly into.

I was half asleep when i posted anyway, lucky that the post was mostly coherent. Guess I missed "airfield" as the clue....

July 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterLyoko is Cool

HAHA DISREGARD THAT I NEED TO READ MORE >.>

July 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterLyoko is Cool

Sorry for adding too much information guys, but is there a possibility that Hak5 can get a group discount for everyone for two days?

Also, just to notify everyone, parking at Busch Gardens is $12/day.

Currently, there is a special going on where a one day Adult's ticket is the same as a kid's ticket: Information Here.

However, for $20 more, you get both days and access to both Busch Gardens and Water Country USA: Information here

July 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterLyoko is Cool

Lyoko, there won't be any discounts from Hak5, and everyone will have to pay their own way. If ya'll don't want to pay for Busch Gardens, we'll probably hit up a bar afterwards for drinks (over 21, sorry!).

Busch Garden's isn't sponsoring us or anything like that, so this is kinda under the radar. We will all just happen to go there on the same day. Ha.

If they still have the "brewmasters" course, when they'll take your name for the reservation. When you're at the door, tell the attendant that you want to use a different name for the certificate.

A small amount of social engineering will result in paperwork that reveals that your dog could brew budweiser!

Haha, I live about 10-15min. from Busch, lucky me =)

So are you all just going to be hanging out at the Festhaus all day or are you all going to be going around the park and only the initial meeting there? If you are going around the park then about what sort of initial window are you looking at?

We're planning on driving in early that morning from Charlotte, NC so just trying to estimate about what time we need to leave here by. Also trying to get an idea if we'll be able to go around the park much that day of if it's mostly gonna be hanging out and shooting the proverbial shit. >^_^<

August 11, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterObsidian

Obsidian,
We will be hanging out at the Festhaus for a few hours, starting at noon. After that, we plan on going on some rides and enjoying the theme park until close. Everyone is welcome to take over a roller coaster with us. I for one, think it would be most beneficial to get a whole train of Hak5'ers on a roller coaster together ;)

Snubs,
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

August 11, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterObsidian

Are there gonna be any 15-ish year olds?

August 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterVman

Are there any alternate plans if it rains? Currently weather.com is saying 40% chance of thunderstorms it looks like which isn't too bad, but you know how they tend to change at the drop of a hat too.

August 12, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterObsidian

It does not look like its gonna rain I like like right next to it... Plus festhaus has a roof lol. Hopefully the annoying German band wont sing there ITS REALLY REALLY ANNOYING.

August 14, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterVman
